Well since I am a forum planet member I was able to jump into the BETA for COH's. The game is down right sweet, graphics are amazing, AI is tuff and game play is interesting. But I do have a few concerns so far that I think will make and break this game.

In the beta we are give a handful of maps a 1v1, a few 2v2's and a 3v3 map, these maps are great in there layout and offer there own unique layouts, but they get very boring after 3 fights on the same map. So where I am going with this is there better be a ton! of maps for this game or it will wind up becoming boring and redundant. Hopefully soon we will know how many maps will be in this game overall...

I will keep you updated as I keep playing this awesome BETA, I will say Relic is doing an awesome job with BETA patches... and a great reporting system.

Btw sledge anyone can participate in the beta, it is OPEN now. I played all tutorials and I must say I'm impressed of how the game is. Its not complex its more microing and fun. VERY high quality game.

Yea I agree this game rocks, I got to play the beta at fileplanet from an invite, sweetness. I was thinking at first oh great another WWII game but this ones actually good. Not saying the other ones weren't Im just saying the market was being flooded with them and we needed some more brainstorming. Well the people at Relic puting this genre into an RTS is brilliant. I love the resources you have to collect, it makes sense, the AI is pretty damn good, its sorta like risk as you have to capture territories and oh yea who doesnt love the graphics, lookin good Company of Heros. Im sold, and Im not sold often.:respect:

Ok I just played some games and its really fun. Non-stop action, no need to care about base building. You need to ofcourse build some stuff but its really action action action.

One thing I'm gonna find hard, and I'm sure many other users will have the same issues, is adapting to the high demand of the game. I have everything on low, I beat all the requirements, and I still get huge lag spikes that mess up the graphics.

anyone having connection problems? It pops up while online like every other second.

I'm gonna try to find some answers in forums. I might try firewall ports. I know my norton has accepted it to allow. I shall find out!! muhaha

The game looks AWESOME - I've got all the settings maxed on 1152X864, and I could probably manage it on 1280X1024.

I like the way it plays - very territory-intensive - but my main beef is speed.

It's not slow in BFME fashion. The units are all relatively fast.

What makes it slow is the fact that it can take forever to take enemy territory - eg I was playing a 2v2 where it took 1.5 hours to make any progress on the enemy front.

My opinion COULD still change of course.

Even still, the units are great. Damage varying on tanks depending on where they are hit. Possibility for engine damage and such. A cover system for your battalions that is EXTREMELY advanced.

Graphically and gameplay speaking, this blows BFME II out of the water in several regards. Though BFME II wins still because in it a game can be over in 1/2 an hour.

(I've obviously gotten spoiled by BFME II's fast games - I would have never said this when I played WC3)

ya the connection problem every 5-10 seconds while in a lobby is normal until a patch is made to fix it. Just incase anybody here gets online and is like WTF! Don't panic just hang in there and once u start a game its not too bad.

I have to play it more to give my opion on balance. But ya graphics are cool. I love the summon holwitzer shot when it explodes and dirt flies into the air and it loud.

I'm very concerned that my soldiers are so weak to enemy mortars... look at the aftermath of a direct hit:

i think tigers are kinda op it took me like a cali and 3 m10 to take one down in a 1v1:HB: but the cover system is just:respect:

Tigers take a long time to get though, and they can be beaten down if you think it through. I worked one over with 2 sqauds of rifles with sticky bombs and 2 squads of rangers.

I believe there will be 15 maps to start. Sure, I'm biased, but I've played the same multiplayer map ranked SO many times, and I have to admit I never get bored. Everyone does something different. I usually play as Allies... sometimes I'll get 2 Tigers storming my base :S Or sometimes a guy who will set up barbed wire and tank traps around the entire map.

Plus, the AI and the "randomness" of the game (e.g. a tank won't always hit its target) make it more interesting too :)

It's always something different to the game... Maybe another 1v1 map would be great. But i'm already happy that you setup a OPEN public beta.

Maybe a question to Buggo : When does the beta ends ??? release in the US ??

If so , Europeans have ² wait and suffer alot of pain when the Americans already can play :D..

Isn't it possible that Beta players can play on another server for a while .. like 8 days or so , so when the release comes in Europe ??
