New To CnC

Hey Guys im realy new to CnC and im gona get it. Can you guys Inform me about the factions and stuff? Also is this a RTS with guns or swords?
Just plz tell me all you know.

Guns.

I'm new to it as well, and got a bunch of info from my good friend Wikipedia.

The original game was 90's era warfare between the Brotherhood of Nod, a terrorist faction, and the GDI, a UN-sanctioned army. The trigger for the game is the arrival of the mysterious substance called Tiberium on earth, a self-producing source of energy which soon begins to choke out life wherever it grows. Nod, led by its messiah-like leader Kane who may or may not be the same one from the Old Testament, champions the use of Tiberium as the way to usher in a new age.

CnC 1 ends with Nod defeated, and Kane seemingly killed.

Tiberium Sun picks up a few decades later. Same factions, Kane's back, Tiberium's still a factor. Kane's killed (again!), and in the expansion Nod's AI computer seemingly goes rogue on an agenda of its own. All the while, there's hints that Nod has some kind of information of alien origin on Tiberium in its posession...

CnC 3 picks up a few decades later. Guess who's back? (Again)

And this time there's a third alien faction.

Incidentally, SOMETHING's up with Kane, considering that going by the Red Alert games he was alive in the 1940s/1950s. And looked the same.

Nod attack the GDI headquarters in Philadelphia and that's a sign for the Scrin (third alien faction) to come to Earth. They were waiting for a sign for sometime it seems.

Actually, the GDI HQ is on a SPACE STATION called "Philadelphia" and it doesn't really get attacked, it just gets blown up by a big bad nuke.
