SC 2 Official Plot Speculation Thread

Surprised that this hasn't been made yet - but anyone care to speculate on the plot in Starcraft 2?

I enjoyed the storyline in the original game, so I'm curious as to where this will go.

Here's what I'm betting on so far (some obvious items):

- Mengsk is back in power (pretty much all but officially confirmed, based on SC:Ghost)
- Zeratul probably returns from his Hybrid hunt
- Xel'Naga survivors will be involved
- Though Kerrigan controls all the Zerg, it was never actually confirmed if the Cerebrate Daggoth still survives. He's the guy that had the new Overmind created - an interesting note is that Kerrigan never actually says HE joined the new Overmind, merely that he ORDERED its creation.
- The Protoss will be dead set on reclaiming Aiur - I can see this as a potential tragic flaw.
- Raynor's gonna have to kill Kerrigan, in all likelyhood. Or she'll get disabled by some faction somehow. Either way, I'm betting the Zerg will default to some other force.

Thoughts/Questions anyone?

I think there will be more heroes for the Terran as only Raynor...
but do u think the story on SC II will be based on SC I?

It's what - 4 years after SC1, I believe? So yeah, it'll build on that story.

And I'm gonna assume that Starcraft:Ghost's events are canon, even though the game was never finished.

After all, Blizzard did the same thing with the aborted Warcraft:Lord of the Clans (see: Thrall and his ENTIRE backstory)

And there's at least one confirmed Terran besides Raynor: Tychus Findlay.
