Red Alert 3 confirmed

Even though I am not normally a newsposter over here, I figured this is big enough to break with tradition!

Because... Red Alert 3 has been confirmed to be in production! Rumours about a new RTS by EALA (Generals, Battle for Middle Earth, C&C3) have been going on for some time now - but only a select few people knew what game this was.

Still don't believe me? Well, its been some time since the Soviets were featured on the cover of a big gaming magazine (http://www.pcgamer.com/archives/2008/02/21208_-_red_ale.html)!

No further details are known yet, although we do know the game will have some form of a semi-public beta.

you can find some info and screenshots in gamereplays.org but I really hope its fake. its like a C&C3 clone, sovjets mechs and so on. EA will also go for the cartoonish RA2 style. I was hoping for a more serious RA1 style..

why would they make another RA when they just came out with cnc 3....

Because CnC is a milkable franchise, and from the looks of the screenshots, they'll be modifying an exact copy of the SAGE engine used in CnC3

Well, sorry guys but I really don't think we should be so hasty... Heck, even Treebeard warned against it! So I say we wait until we have a lot more info, or maybe even played the game ourselves, untill we speak harshly about it... Although I must confess that I didn't like the use of the word "wacky" in their press release.
