I was able to snag a handful of screenshots from Planet C&C to show you the world of RA3. To me the game looks pretty generic so far... but I can't really comment as it is very early in development stages. Since the site is currently under a revamp I will post links to the images here (http://bttournaments.com/ra3/screenshots/).

Lets hope these are early screenshots of the game and that it will look better in due time.

They could just have released all that as a mod for CnC3.
SAGE doesn't look as good as it did back in the day, other games chunk out more detailed units with more polygons without lagging like hell even on SLI setups. At least they stayed true to the cartoonic art from RA2, lets hope they keep up the geeky cut-scene humour :)

I dont understand why they have to make the units and building sci-fi style just precisely as C&C3.. will this be a futuristic war just like C&C3?? this seems so pointless, I mean, look at the factions, sovjet and nod, allies and GDI they are almost identic. this game will be a C&C3 clone with with different faction names.
I was hoping for a follower of RA1 (since RA2 story was rubbish), not cartoonish, but about the coldwar politics, the fair, and the gloomy and lonely athmosphere of RA1, and with WW2 technology.
as the game looks now, I will certainly not buy it.

Do keep in mind this is still very early, probably pre-alpha.
I think they do the same for all EA RTS's, and I'm not saying its a good method, but they make textures, buildings and units and put that in the engine for their previous SAGE game.
Only then they start polishing it with new effects, menu's, details for units and structures etc.

Cnc3 didnt look good at launch imho. Games like CoH had much better graphics at the time.

I hope that's an early build...
The grass textures are not very good, and the graphics look just like CnC 3. No real difference stylistically.

EA's incompetence can be seen by the fact that they're too lazy to turn on AA and AF for screenshots. I agree with the graphics. I think the overall atmosphere and bright colours are good, but the textures are just very very bad.

Honestly I haven't been following SC2 to closely... I did that with the BFME Series and was already burnt out a few months after its release. I pray SCII is a game I will enjoy and same with RA3! I just haven't seen enough to really comment.

See, the thing that I find VERY interesting about Starcraft II is the level of transparency.
I don't know if that's ever really been done to the extent Blizzard's doing it - it may be, but it may be not.
They're always keeping the community appraised of the latest experiments in the weekly builds, and how well they work out.
Whether or not this is a good thing has yet to be seen.
