Hoping for new information on the upcoming EA game "Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3", IGN went to Executive Producer Chris Corry to snag an interview.

A sample for you all to enjoy:

"IGN: Tell us about the setting and the story, and is it directly related or connected to the events of the last game, or is it a completely different timeline?

Chris Corry: I touched on that time travel theme. The events that kick off Red Alert 3 really come back to that. Our story opens with the Allies and the Soviets going at it again, but this time the Allies have beaten the Soviets back and have the upper hand. The Soviet leadership is cowering behind the walls of the Kremlin; their defeat is imminent and all but certain. At that point, sort of crazed with desperation, the leadership descends into the bowels of the Kremlin into their secret labs where they have this skunk works project going on. They fire up this prototype of this device which is a time machine that's never been used before. And their intention is to go back in time and erase Albert Einstein from the timeline. Of course, Albert Einstein in the previous games has been instrumental in the technological advances that made the Allies so successful..."

With information on many aspects of the game, this interview is definitely worth a read. If you're interested, and you should be, you can find the entire interview here. (http://pc.ign.com/articles/859/859781p1.html)

I've just read trough it, and if EA does what they say they will in this interview this game has a lot of potential. The only issue for me is that EALA has been known to cut back a lot of features just before launch, or they were just implemented in a very poor way. I'll just point out 'War of the Ring' in BfME2 which nobody really plays, even after its "improvements" in RoTWK. Then there is BfME1 which was supposed to have a dynamic 3D camera and much larger battles - which were removed when Mike Verdu got fired.

Hopefully EALA has learned its lessons and will spend time playtesting this game before its released. I would say they need to make a number of groups with casual and competitive players, and test the game on them for a few weeks so they don't need 10 patches after which the game is still broken or imba.
